When Life Isn't Fair

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

It doesn't seem fair that some of the foods that "taste the best," are often those that need to be limited, but there are ways to make cutting back on our favorite treats a little less disappointing. As someone prone to overindulging in sweets, I find these little bowls are a fun way to gently control portions of sugary or calorie dense foods. These little bowls hold a quarter cup serving and are especially handy for portion control of foods that are indulgences--for example, everyone's seeming favorite: ice cream! Little bowls like this are great for children's portions of sweetened yogurt or other sweet foods we often try to limit but love to enjoy. Taking smaller bites and deliberately eating more slowly are other simple hacks to help us savor smaller portions of foods we need to limit so that you're getting just the right amount of the foods you love. A quarter cup bowl also holds two servings of heart healthy walnuts, almonds or nutritious pecans.
